About us

This project was created at the initiative of the Spanish Federation of Medical Students for International Cooperation (IFMSA-Spain) and with the support and participation of NO-GRACIAS platform.

This is a national project which  is made up of working groups established by settlers in the Schools of Medicine of the different Spanish universities.

Currently, there are 7 working groups actively operating in the following universities::

• University of País Vasco

• University of Asturias

• University of Zaragoza

• University of Alcalá de Henares

• University Autónoma de Madrid

• University of Castilla - La Mancha

• University of Granada

At the international level, is linked to nofreelunch movement and university initiatives as Pharmaware (United Kingdom) and Pharmafree (USA).

Objetives

Farmacríticxs' objetives are:

• Open spaces for discussion and learning where to analyze the role of the Pharmaceutical Industry in our health care system in our training and the improvement of Global Health.

• Inform and make aware students, health professionals, teachers and the general population about the importance of current problems relating to the manufacture, distribution, promotion and use of medicines.

• Provide proposals and alternatives for Pharmaceutical Industry really  contributes solving these problems and, consequently, to improve health locally and globally.

• Defend that ethics and transparency are necessary conditions for relations with the Pharmaceutical Industry to revert to the public assets.

• Support models and strategies for independent health research and training and not subordinate to the interests of the Pharmaceutical Industry.
